I’ve covered Silverside before but it always rates a mention. Some may know it as corned beef or maybe even Pickled Tiger (a South African joke). I grew up eating it and have never lost the taste for it. Of course the sweet mustard sauce is mandatory. It seems each butcher has their own pickling method so its worth shopping around until you find a good one or you could buy the cut of beef and pickle it yourself. Another bonus is there is usually plenty left for sandwiches or like here with a salad the following day.
