FINALLY, I can get good quality dried French mushrooms at the supermarket. The prices are mental but they are really good. I got these on a special for $4 a punnet and because of their strength and flavour you don’t use too many at once particularly the Porcini that are very strong. It’s a bit scary when you do the math, they work out at $200 a kilo. The Mixed Forest are addictive, the porcini are nice but use in moderation. The mixed ones I have used in pasta and they were very good in an omelette and with an eye fillet and in a duck and mushroom risotto…I did say they are addictive!
