After a long day of highway driving and getting home early evening to realise we had nothing sorted for dinner we decided to take a five minute walk up to harbour beach and throw some lures and see if we could catch a fish for dinner. Within half an hour Paula hooked a nice little Flathead and that was tea sorted. They are a beautiful eating fish despite their less than glamorous looks. They love to hang out around the breaker mark on sandy beaches and ambush baitfish and can be caught easily from the shore. We throw soft plastic lures on light line and you may get one or you may get twenty. This one went from water to plate pretty quick and tasted all the better for it.
